While I enjoyed Rainbow Rowell's first volume a lot, this second volume was AMAZING! She's really not afraid to move these characters in new directions and mix up their relationships. The first volume was basically going back to the roots of the team, but this one is moving them forward, and I'm loving where they're all going. I can't wait to see where Rowell takes them next! 5/5 stars, and definitely a worthy continuation of the original comics.

That last issue! The whole arc was great and I thoroughly enjoyed every issue, but wow, that last one! I have three spoilery shouts:

4.5 stars. I think having the characters be a little older really works. They're a little more matured, and more rational about a lot of things. All the while still being the characters we love. PS: Thank you Rainbow Rowell, for writing a Chase Stein I actually enjoy reading.

The relaunch of Runaways continues to fire on all cylinders! AND they brought in a member of Power Pack?!?! Awesome!

What a fantastic volume! I never read past the third volume of the original Runaways series so I know there's a lot of history with there characters that I don't know. But with the way Rainbow (can I call her that? I read so much of her stuff, I'm starting to feel like she's a really close friend so I'll call her Rainbow) writes, I don't feel 100% out of the loop. I love how she brings up things that previously happened in their history but makes it feel natural. She ackno

It was a fun and engaging read but still it was lacking something for me. I love the rebuilding Victor plot and random appearances of the Doombot, how the Runaways are trying to be a family even though they've been apart for long... But I think the romances and relationship dramas are moving a little too fast for me. While I love how Karolina and Nico's relationship is developing, it got a little spoiled for me how it was intertwined with Julie's plot. I'm not really sure about Gert and her

The band may be back together, but that doesn’t mean that they’re playing in harmony. With tensions running high and every member of the Runaways coping with their everything-old-is-new-again situation differently, it’s only a matter of time before things explode. All it takes is a surprise visit from Karolina’s girlfriend and a magical age-defying cupcake, not to mention Doctor Doom, and the Runaways fragile family bonds may fracture before they’ve even unpacked their bag

A better arc than the last, as the Runaways have finally gotten the band back together and are ready to go on adventures again. But of course, Karolina's girlfriend, who for some reason IS NOT NICO? shows up and ruins everything. Chase and Nico become parents. Victor gets a vacuum. A certain doom-y friend shows up looking sharp. Molly makes a friend. Gert and Old Lace... just chill I don't really remember what they did. I want to eat this comic because it looks so pretty.

The Runaways, Chase, Gert, Karolina, Nico, Victor, Molly and Old Lace are finally back together and living in one of their parents’ old hideouts. While most of the team have grown up since the last time they were all together, this does not mean that they have their lives together. Each of the Runaways has their issues to deal with, be it Gert’s recent return to life after several years of being dead, Karolina’s relationship problems or Victor’s current existence as a disembodied he

So good! But I can imagine being super lost if I was not already familiar with most of the guest appearance characters and continuity between Vaughn's Runaways and Rowell's volumes. Anyway, I will read everything that Rainbow Rowell writes, indiscriminately, and I just happened to luck out that she is writing some of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe.

Still a relatively slow moving comic, I m so glad Rainbow Rowell is now writing Gert.

Also, is there any comic artist better at teen fashion than Kris Anka?

The gang's all back, including the head of Victor, but everyone's still not quite back to being BFFs again. Gert isn't quite sure if Chase still feels the same, since their age difference is even more than it was before she died. Karolina has a girlfriend, Julie, but then there's Nico... and Molly has a new best friend, who gives her the opportunity to stay young forever, and all her pre-adult friends are currently wishing they were back to an age with no responsibilities.

After having read the

Molly is given the option to stay young forever while Gert continues to deal with the massive age difference between herself and the family that used to be her peer group. Full of heart and drama, this book is all about growing up.

Rowell is the perfect writer for this book. Combining the original flavor of Runaways with her singular grasp of the emotional life of young adults, she is clearly working toward a broad, complex story.

I highly recommend this title in general, and Rowell's run in par

After a forced and rushed first volume, this books takes it easy treating us to mostly character moments with a bit of superheroics thrown in. It's a wonderful break from a lot of the other Marvel titles that are nonstop action that makes you feel nothing *cough*X-Men Gold*cough*.

My one big complaint is that Gert is now such a shameless stand-in for Rainbow Rowell, especially after (view spoiler) that I

Enjoyed this even more than volume two! Great character development and writing from Rowell, and amazing art from Anka. The outfit design and colours in this are stunning, especially Nico and Karolina. Those dress in the last issue and the butterfly scene with Gert were absolutely, incomparable gorgeous. Definitely one of the best series I've read so far!

This volume was a bit slow-paced for me. More of the gang getting back to their groove with the Molly story and that "whatever happened to Klara?" oneshot. But then the end of #12 bulldozed the whole story back into place :)))

Also, I love that weird shadow thing with Nico. Are we finally going to know what ever the hell happened to her after Murderworld?? 🤩

I read this comic to remind myself of how much I love the Runaways, and this was SOOOOOO good. Whereas the actual novel I read focussed a lot on how the characters felt about themselves - Gert and her body image, Nico and her survivors guilt, etc - this had some of that but also had everything I love about this group.

And the ending! I can’t wait for the 3rd comic to come out.

Read as individual issues.

Rowell and Anka continue their wonderful run. A fun, funny heartwarming and heartbreaking arc. The art remains stunning and the plot hits all the right emotional beats and sets up a new story for their third arc. I can't wait.

If you've enjoyed past Runaways runs or Rainbow Rowell's novels, this is right up your alley.

I wouldn't say that this is that much of a step up from the beginning of the series, but goddamn, that issue where Gert goes out into a changed world and sees how much things have advanced... That's gold and it's one of the better emotional moments across, what, 60+ issues or something? Runaways is finally fun and touching again and I'm for it.

i really love this comic so much, of course the story has been so good and the character development (and deanoru!!!) but also the art, there are so many fun details in it that makes this comic so enjoyable, like victor's head being in the weirdest places, everyone;s expressions and clothes and just everything
ps i love victor mancha!!

I love the story. It's very clever and character driven. We see the team getting back together. I'm still struggling with the non-linear reading that is graphic novels. I do think Kris Anka's drawings really compliment the story. Overall, very enjoyable.

Leer Runaways es tan refrescante. Casi no conozco a los personajes y ya les adoro. Cuando tenga un ratito, me pondré a leer los primeros volúmenes de Runaways porque estoy seguro de que aunque esté spoileado, me van a encantar.

Love it!

Brilliant art and story.
I love the characters change of clothes and the great compositions & colors. The new look of the comic is great.
I really enjoyed the story. It was a great reboot for the classic comic. Definitely recommend!

Rainbow Rowell writes books. Sometimes she writes about adults (ATTACHMENTS and LANDLINE). Sometimes she writes about teenagers (ELEANOR & PARK and FANGIRL). But she always writes about people who talk a lot. And people who feel like they're screwing up. And people who fall in love.

When she's not writing, Rainbow is reading comic books, planning Disney World trips and arguing about things that
